Organizational membership meeting at the central fire station.
First membership meeting, volunteers nominated to serve the members of the Lafayette City Employees Federal Credit Union and voting occurred. This meeting was held in the office of the Chief of Police.
Vote to change field of membership to include employees of all parish governments with Lafayette Parish, Municipals or City governments within Lafayette Parish, and any governmental units established at the parish or local level of government within Lafayette Parish, except the school board.
Name changed to Lafayette Parish Municipal and Parochial Employees Federal Credit Union
Name changed to M.A.P.E.L. -Municipal And Parochial Employees of Lafayette Federal Credit Union. M.A.P.E.L. remained until the merger in 2004.
Merger partner with Iberia Parish Hospital and City of New Iberia credit union resulting in the name change to Maple Federal Credit Union.
Maple expanded the current location adding additional office space, more drive thru lanes and parking to accommodate the fire and utility trucks.
Maple FCU committed to investing in the education of our members by awarding $5000 in annual scholarships.
